Josiah Leinbach

Statistician and GenAI Consultant

About Me

I am a statistician, amateur historian, and aspiring Renaissance man. I earned a B.A. in History from Hillsdale College (2020), where I was a Winston Churchill Fellow in History and Military History. Later, I earned an M.S. in Applied Statistics and M.A. in Economics from Bowling Green State University (2025).

My research interests are many and varied. Professionally, these include sampling methodology, stylostatistical analysis, demography, transit optimiziation, human performance, applications for Game Theory and Decision Theory, and efficient but ethical use of LLMs in studying, research, and workflows, to name a few.

Outside of statistics and economics, I enjoy studying foreign policy, social psychology, early modern European history, urban planning, Baroque music, and Renaissance art. I am a classically trained pianist, unapologetic Jane Austen fan, and read on nearly any subject from philosophy to physics.

In my free time, I republish out-of-print Anglican theological texts and direct the Whitaker Fellowship at Prolego Press.

Stylometric analysis of the Greek New Testament

Designing various stylostatistical models for the Greek New Testament (GNT), based on New Testament scholarship, that explore the relationship between writing style and subject matter, genre, and rhetorical register.

Bletchleyism

Few topics draw together so wonderfully my love of history, statistical methods, and interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving as does the story of Bletchley Park and the breaking of German ciphers in WWII. As such, I occasionally publish my thoughts on sundry subjects, from 16th century monarchism to social applications of Game Theory, at Bletchleyism.

Traditional BCP Parishes

I keep a running list of all traditional Book of Common Prayer (BCP) parishes in the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), the Anglican Church of Australia (ACA), and the Church of England. Links for the parish maps and crowd-sourced entry forms can be found here. Users may submit additional parishes that are not listed on the map.
